Dhwajarohanam Marks the Grand Beginning of Brahmotsavams

Tirumala, 13 September 2018: The temple flag hoisting festival, Dhwajarohanam was performed with religious fervour in the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala marking the grand beginning of nine day annual brahmotsavams.

A specially designed flag with the image of Garudalwar was hoisted on the temple pillar located in Dhwaja mandapam in auspicious Kuburan between 4pm and 4.45pm during Makara Lagnam.

The priests chanted relevant mantras when the religious ceremony is underway. The significance of this fete is that it acts as an invitation to the deities of all worlds to take part in the mammoth event of annual brahmotsavams of the Supreme Lord Venkateswara.
