Tiruchanoor, 22 September 2018: The Ankurarpanam for annual three day Pavitrotsavams was held in Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple in Tiruchanoor on Saturday evening.
A series of religious events including Viswaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam, Rakshabandhanam, Mritsangrahanam, Senadhipathi Utsavam were held before Beejavapanam which is also known as Ankurarpanam.
To waive off the sins committed either knowingly or unknowingly by pilgrims, religious staff and employees, the Pavitrotsavams are observed as Sin free festival every year for three days.
On first day on September 23, Pavitra Pratista, second day Pavitra Samarpana and on last day Pavitra Purnahuti will be performed.
The Grihastas who are willing to take part in this festival, will have to pay Rs.750 on which two persons will be allowed per ticket. They will be presented with two laddus and two vadas.
