Highlights of Tirumala Navarathri Brahmotsavams



Tirumala, 18 October 2018: The Navarathri Brahmotsavams concluded on a grand note in Tirumala on Thursday. Lakhs of pilgrims witnessed Vahana Sevas and had darshanam of Lord Venkateswara.

Highlights from each department recorded during Brahmotsavams in the last eight days (October 10 to 17) as follows:

SRIVARI TEMPLE

* 6.54 lakh devotees had darshan 
* Record number of 1.03 lakh had darshan on Garuda Seva day
* 7 lakh laddus buffer stock kept
* 29.30 lakh laddus sold 
* Hundi collections touched Rs.17.75 crores
*Vagapadi ( prasadams) revenue  Rs.6.70crores
*Nearly 3 lakh devotees including locals  got blessed on Garuda seva day.

SECURITY AND VIGILANCE:

*Security  ith 750 CC cameras and bodyworn cameras  on Garuda seva, Rathotsavam and Chakrasnanam day to avert untoward incidents.
*3000 police, 1000 more on Garuda seva day, provided ecurity during Brahmotsavams
* 800 Srivari Sevakulu, 700 Scouts and Guides, 200 NCC cadets, 400 home guards,300 TTD security guards, one NDRF unit, 25 swimmers served during the festival.
* Monitoring of all movements and happenings in Tirumala through a video wall at Command control center.
* 1.36 lakh child tags issued to avert missing issues.

ACCOMODATION:

* Record revenue of Rs.1.121 Crore for 8 days of  Brahmotsavams 
* 4000 rooms earmarked for common devotees  daily.
* Occupancy rate  stood at record  93 %
* Display board heralded room vacancies and allotments

KALYANA KATTA:

* 2.89 lakh devotees offer tonsuring  to redeem their vows
* 1270 barbers including 270 women barbers render service.
* All the nine kalyana kattas worked on  three shifts at 24 hours.

ANNA PRASADAMS

* 22 lakh devotees consumed meals  for 8 days of Brahmotsavams
* 12.74 lakh units of coffee/tea/milk served
*Record 7.59 lakh devotees served anna Prasadams  and snacks 5.19 lakh  tea/coffee on Garuda seva day.
*Anna Prasadans provided at Tarigonda Vengamamba  Anna Prasada Bhavan from early morning to 1.30 AM  past midnight.
* 10 tons of vegetables  donated by devotees  daily

MEDICAL AND HEALTH:

* 45 doctors and 85 para medics served 
* 46,371 devotees given medicare on foot paths and Tirumala 

HEALTH WING:

* 3300 workers strived to clean  toielts, streets and corridors of guest houses , mada streets  etc  .
* 41 additional toielts built for devotee convenience
* 120 ones of garbage clearbed on the Garuda seva day.

ENGINEERING DEPT:

* Mada street gallereis refurbished to accomodate 2 lakh devotees.
* Flexi boards, sign boards, route maps set up all over Tirumala for devotees .
* One crore litres of RO treated water filled in Swami Pushkarini for Chakra snanam and daily use by devotees.
*. Compact  Bhajan Mandapas built on corners of Mada streets .
*R O water plants all over  Tirumala
*Separate queue lines in Pushkarini for Chakrasnanam
Record  309.30 lakh gallons of  water used during Brahmotsavanms 
*Car and two wheeler parkings  at Devlok, Alipiri, Srivari mettu  etc.
* 116 Electric cut outsof Gods and goddesss, 23 electric arches
33LED screens all over  Tirumala and Mada streets for devotees to watch Vahana sevas and Live SVBC programs on Temple rituals etc.

HDPP AND OTHER PROJECTS:

* Cultural and Dharmic wings of TTD- HDPP, Annamacharya ,Dasa Sahitya projects  and SV Music and Dance college rolled out cultural activities  - bhajans, bhakti sangeet, dances , discourses, nama sankeertans, Vishnu Sahasranamams, .
* 87 troupes   and 3290  artists rendered programs during  eight days  of Brahmotsavams. .
* For the first time Sangeet Natak Academy from New Delhi also sponsored some teams and
Folk artists from Haryana, Maharashtra,Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat, 

GARDEN DEPARTMENT:

* Grand flower decorations in the courtyard and inside  Srivari temple.
* 50 tones of traditional flowers and 2.50 lakh cut flowers used.

PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENTS:

* Media center with computers, internet, fax  and TV organised at Ram Bagicha-2
* Book stalls organised at Tirumala and in Tirupati organised  for sale of CDs,DVDs, 
*  Rs.24.42 lakhs revenue generated in eight days of Brahmotsavams through the sale of TTD publications.
* Corodianted Brahmotsavams service  activities  with 4200 srivari sevakulu  from all over India.
*.Srivari sevaks disbursed food, snacks, coffee, milk , butter milk at Mada streets and also Food courts besides Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasadam complex.
Maha Pradarshan(Exhibition)
* Daily 40,000  foot falls at Exhibition.
* Ten feet idol of Sri Venkateswara  was star attraction.

SV GOSAMRAKSHANA SHALA:

*.Brightly decorated  Bulls, Horses and Elephants particiapted in the Vahana seva processions.
*Animal handlers  appeared in bright uniforms and colorful umbrellas .
*Special veterinary experts and doctors brought for animal care during Vahana  sevas

SVBC:

*Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel 
broadcastEd 13-hour live programs 
* Commentary  in English, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada daily during Vahana sevas .
* Highlights of  Brahmotsavams uploaded on YouTube, SVBC App ,TTD website .
* Sophisticated  equipment used including 13 HD cameras, 3 jimmy jips , high density lenses  etc. for live coverages

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:

* IT rolled out in security arrangements-CC cameras, Body wrap camers , public address system, traffic diversions etc.
* IT utilised in  darshan, laddu  and accomdoation allotments

APSRTC:

*APSRTC  brought  3.64lakh devotees to Tirumala in 14,865 trips and took back  5.58 lakhs to Tirupati in 14,835 trips
* While on Garuda seva alone 80,239 in 2898 trips from Tirupati to Tirumala, 1.03 lakhs from Tirumala o Tirupati in 2740 trips

DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION SERVICES:

Police, Health, Revenue and other departments in the district offered services.
