All Set for Pushpa Yagam at Srivari Temple - TTD JEo

Tirumala, 13 November 2018: All preparations were complete for the unique Pushpa yagam festival at Srivari Temple, says KS Sreenivasa Raju, Tirumala JEO.

Speaking to media persons after the a review meeting with senior TTD officials at the Annamaiah Bhavan here the JEO said he had made some suggestions for the arrangements for the ongoing unique Vaikunta Ekadasi festival at Tirumala.

He said Pushpa Yagam was a ritual performed every year to ward off bad impact of some wrong doings in the temple rituals during the Brahmotsavam or other events in the Srivari Temple. As part of the same Rutwik-varanam was performed at 6am in the morning in front of the Mula Virat in the Srivari Temple in which along Kankana bhattar five other preists were commissioned for special rituals. 

On Wednesday Snapana Thirumanjanam, will be performed from 9am to 11 am and Pushpa yagam will commence from 1pm in afternoon till 5pm. In view of the special rituals, all the daily arjita sevas like Sahasra kalashabhisekam, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal seva and Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasantotsavam were cancelled on Nov 14.

He said the Vaikunta dwaram will be opened at Srivari temple on December 17 and kept open for devotee’s darshan on Vaikunta Ekadasi on December 18 and 19. 

He said he reviewed the arrangements for the special arrangements to be made to facilitate the devotee’s rush on the same days with the officials of IT, Engineering, Anna Prasadam, and Srivari Seva etc. An action plan will be drawn up in the coming ten days for construction of temporary sheds and queue lines to manage the devotee crowds. The hygiene and cleanliness of Tirumala had scaled several notches up with construction of additional toilets on the Mada streets.
