Devaswom Board provides more facilities for devotees

The Travancore Devaswom Board has made every arregement for the pilgrims Despite the floods few months ago, the Board's machinery had worked like a well oiled machine to install sufficient toilets in Sabarimala before the Mandala season.

Board has imstalled1161 toilets at Sabarimala so far and out of this, 877 are free use toilets.

On the trekking path, 150 toilets have been made available for the devotees. Separate toilets for gents and women were also functioning at Chandranandan road, Queue complex and Malikappuram. Apart from this, 100 bathrooms and 60 showerpoints  are well in operation at Sabarimala.

  

 More cleaning staff have been appointed to clean these bathrooms. Board has made the service of 99 workers in three shifts to keep the bathrooms clean.

Drinking Water facilities are the noteworthy arrangement the Board has been made at Sabarimala. 283 taps have been functioning despite the Board's initiative of supplying medicinal drinking water at 36 points enroute to Sannidhanam.

534 rooms are there for devotees to take rest and stay after a hardous trek. Board has also made the annadanam facilities at Sabarimala.

In handling the wastes collected at Sabarimala, three incinerators are already functioning. In an hour, 750 kilogram of wastes can be handled in it. Sewage treatment plant is also there apart 250 waste bins placed at different places.
