Dr.
MCR HRD Institute of Telangana conducted an Army Symposium for the 316Trainee
Civil Servants.Major General N Srinivas Rao, General Officer Commanding,
Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, whowas the Chief Guest at the event, highlighted
the need for formal national security strategy in view of the emerging external
and internal threats.He stated that an all-encompassing national security
strategy should take into account all the inter-ministerial, inter-departmental,
and civil-military diversities. He said,with a sense of pride, that Indian army
is ready for any challenges from neighbouring countries. “In Doklam, when 1,000
Chinese troops infiltrated our area, within 48 hours 9,000 of our military
forces reached the site with full-fledged preparations and it compelled the Chinese President to
order the withdrawal of their troops from there”, he added.
Major General Rao gave away Gold,
Silver, and Bronze Medals to, IPS, SriShahid T Komath, IIS, Sri Chitvan Singh
Dhillon, IES, and Sri Ajay GanpatiKumbhar, IPS, respectively in the Army Essay
Competition 2018,conducted by the Army HQ for the trainee civil servants
attending the 93rd Foundation Course.

C Chandramouli, Secretary, DoPT, Government of India,
who was the Guest of Honour, advised the trainee civil servants to be proactive
in their approach, find out the problems of people, and find enduring solutions
for them. Continuing his address, he said that the root cause of conflict in
the society isthe competing claims by multiple stakeholders on limited
resources. He called upon the trainee civil servants touphold the value of
justice in the distribution of resources. He added that the job of a civil
servant is highly stressful in its nature and advised trainee civil servants to
maintain work-life balance. He gave away medals and certificatesto the Officer
Trainee for best presentations and creative writingson Trek and Village Visit
Presentations and also to those who successfully completed e-Learning modules,
designed by DoPT

B P Acharya, IAS Special Chief Secretary Planning and Director General, Dr. MCR
HRD Institutesaid that the people keep the armed
forces in high esteem considering their innumerable sacrifices in protecting
border of the country. “He said that there is a pressing need to sensitise the
trainee civil servants on issues relating to national security, considering the
facts that many of them do not get an opportunity to work with the armed
forces.
