Prohibitory orders extended for four more days at Sabarimala

The Pathanamthitta district collector P B Nooh on Thursday extended the prohibitory orders issued under Section 144 of the CrPC at Sabarimala and its base camps of Pamba, Nilakkal and Elavunkal for four more days. 

The order bans assembly of four or more people at the said premises. It also says that procession and other kind of collective actions are prohibited. The order has been made by the district administration to give protection to the life and property of the devotees coming to Sabarimala. Meanwhile, the order does not restrict the free movement of devotees and in chanting the Sarana Mantra.

District Collector has considered the reports submitted by  the District Police Chief, Sabarimala Additional District Magistrate and Executive Magistrates. He also reviewed the situation at Sabarimala during the last two months when during the Nada was opened for monthly poojas and Chithira Atta Visesham before extending the orders.
