Devotees had Darshan of Goddess of Wisdom on Hamsa Vahanam

Tiruchanur, 5 Dec. 18: The devotees were elated by the glimpse of Goddess Padmavathi Devi who graced them as "Saraswathi Devi"-the Goddess of Wisdom on Hamsa Vahanam on second day evening as a part of Navahnika Karthika Brahmotsavams on Wednesday.

Saraswati is a Sanskrit fusion word which is a fusion of sāra which means "essence", and sva  which means "one self", meaning "essence of one self". Hence Goddess Saraswati is being revered as the "one who leads to essence of self-knowledge".
