The
trainee civil servants at Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana organized “India
Day”with gaiety and fervour,with a view to showcase culture, customs, arts
& crafts, and cuisine of the diverse regions of the country andhelp build
pride among people in the country’s rich heritage.Besides over 300 trainee
civil servants, the event was graced bySri
B P Acharya, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary & DG, Dr. MCR HRD Institute and
other dignitaries
Dressed in theirunique traditional
attires of various States, all the trainee civil servants, who were looking
dashing in their own right, not only created a captivating spell but also
converted the campus of the Institute into Mini India.
The trainee civil servants took out
a colourful procession from the Godavari Residency to Administrative Block and
culminated at RamadasuRangasthali Lawns. They gave into the festive moodof the
occasion and danced to the rhythmic beats of the drums and electrifying musical
band.The contingent of officers from Maharashtra, mounted on horseback and led
by their leader dressed as ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj, was the highlight of the
procession.
The
trainee civil servants presented a feature-rich cultural program, which
included energetic folk dances and glorious songs from North East, Bihar,
Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, UP, Punjab,
Rajasthan, etc.The dazzling display of colourful costumes and unique jewellery
from across the country captured the hearts of one and all and also left them
awestruck.
In
addition, the trainee civil servants rendered hit songs in Hindi, Tamil, Bhojpuri,
and Malayalam, recited poetry, presented costume-play dealing with such social
issues as ‘BetiPadhao; BetiBachao’
and received multiple rounds of standing ovations.The spectacular talent of the
trainee civil servants not only uplifted the mood of the audience but also
ignited the air with the magic of unity of India in the diversity of its
cultures.
“The
India Day Celebrations were greatly instrumental not only in understanding the
diverse cultures of different regions of India but also in building bonds with
ourco-trainee civil servants from various services”, opined the trainee civil
servants unanimously.
The
food served at the event, which represented different regions of the country,
was in line with the objective of India Day to explore ‘unity in diversity’.
The lively anchoring by Sri Anil
Yadav, IPS and MissShruthee Srinivasan, IRS (C & CE) was an icing on the
cake.
