Tirumala, 30 Mar. 19: TTD Joint Executive Officer for Tirumala Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju today asserted that the TTD forest officials have successfully contained the forest fires in TTD forest area.
The JEO who inspected the forest fire affected region near Dharmagiri on Saturday said that forest fire was identified in the Seshachala range under government jurisdiction from Chamala range spreading towards TTD forest area and necessary precautions and preventive steps were taken up.
He said fire affected the low-lying shrubs and plants in the region of Dharmagiri Veda Pathasala, Srivari Padalu and T.V tower to the extent of nearly 50acres. Fire spreaded from lower hill range to higher zones due to strong winds, summer heat and dry leaves, he observed.
The JEO said fire has been completely contained now in the Dharmagiri region and the forest staff in coordination of the fire staff were busy stopping the fire spreading to other regions.
TTD DFO Sri Phanikumar Naidu and other TTD forest staff accompanied him during the visit.
