Vontimitta, 13 Apr. 19: The Sri Ramanavami Brahmotsavams at historic and holiest TTD sub temple of Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, Vontimitta began this morning in ceremonial start with Dhwajarohanam in Vrishabha Lagnam between 8am to 9am on Saturday.
The devotees were ecstatic as the Kankana bhattar Sri Rajesh Kumar led the priests in the traditional practice of navakalasha panchamruta Abhisekam to the Dwaja sthabham.
In all 500 TTD Srivari Sevakulu led by Dr T Ravi, CPRO commenced the holy task of preparing the Thalambralu packets required for the majestic event of Sri Sitarama Kalyanam slated of April 18 with an agenda to prepare two lakh Thalambralu packets.
Spl Officer Sri Munirathnam Reddy, DyEO Sri Natesh babu, AEO Sri Rama Raju, OSD Of SV Recording Project Sri Maniratnam Reddy DyEO Sri Devendra Babu and other senior officials, temple priests participated in the event.
The HDPP organised a poet’s conclave for poet Pothana centenary celebrations as part of which prominent Telugu poets debated the Pothana writings of Janapriya Ramayanam, and Ramayana Kalpavruksa.
As part of Of Day 1 of the annual Brahmotsavams, Lord Rama along with Sita Lakshman rode on Pedda Sesha vahanam tonight and blesses the devotees.
