Motivation Campaign on Dress Code - TTD Eo







Tirumala, 3 May 19: A massive motivation campaign on "Dress Code for Darshan of Lord" will be taken up to inform the pilgrims about the sanctity of traditional dress code in Tirumala, said, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.

When EO was attending to the calls of pilgrim callers from across the country during the monthly Dial your EO programme which took place at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday, a caller Sri Srinivas from Tadepallegudem brought to the notice of EO the need to promote the importance of traditional dress among pilgrims visiting Tirumala. Reacting to the caller, the EO said, TTD has already implemented traditional dress code for men and women devotees for certain categories of devotees including Arjitha Sevas, VIP break, Rs.300 special entry darshan ticket holders in a stringent way from the past eight years. 

As the percentage of Sarva Darshan and Divya Darshan pilgrims are more when compared to these paid sevas, we have not insisted dress code on them since they have to wait long hours in queues and compartments. However, the EO assured the caller that TTD will slowly take up motivation campaign in a big way on dress code so that even the general pilgrims follow the traditional dress code, he added.

Another pilgrim caller Sri Keshava from Madanapalle informed TTD EO that the sub-temple of TTD at Kosuvaripalle is void of archakas to perform kainkaryams. Reacting to this suggestion, the EO said, the issue will be solved soon.

Callers Sri Bapuji from Guntur, Sri Krishnamurthy from Rajamundry, Sri Vinay Kumar from Bengaluru sought EO to revise the existing on-line electronic dip system as they are not getting tickets even after trying for over an year. Explaining them, EO said, the Electronic Dip by TTD completely a transparent system which has enabled even the pilgrims from remote areas to book seva tickets. "But since over 1.15lakh pilgrims will be trying their luck for just 10thousand odd tickets, some may get tickets in their first attempt while some others in their 15th attempt or so. The only way to get the seva ticket is to keep on trying them", the EO said.

A pilgrim caller from Hyderabad Sri Appalacharyulu sought EO to make some seating arrangement for the devotees at Nadaneerjanam and also proper sound system for Sahasra Deepalankara Seva Sankeertana Vibhavari. The EO said, the issues will be solved with immediate effect.

Answering a caller Sri Raghavendra from Bellary of Karnataka who brought to the notice of EO about the chaotic situation during the release of compartments in Vaikuntham, the EO said, we have been informing the pilgrims not to go in haste. The devotees should also have to maintain some disciplene and patience as soon as the compartments are released. Recently we have also prepared a video documentary which will be displayed soon on how the pilgrims have to move in the queue lines when compartments are released. We will also instruct our security persons to monitor the lines.

A caller Sri Ravi from Hyderabad suggested EO to provide Srivari Seva volunteers in all free buses to maintain pilgrims while alighting and entering into the buses. The EO said the issue will be looked into. 

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Tirupati JEO Sri B Lakshmikantham, CE Sri Chandrasekhar Reddy and other senior officers were also present.
