Tyagaraja Fest Observed










Tirumala,10 May, 2019 ;The hill town of Tirumala experienced a unique feel on Friday evening when the entire environs reverberated to the melodious Pancharatna kritis composed by Saint music composer SriTyagarja Swamy on the auspicious occasion of his 252nd Jayanthi Mahotsavam.
About 300 eminent vocalists and instrumentalists hailing from Telugu speaking States, TN, Karnataka and Kerala took part in this religious fete of “Vaggeyakara Vaibhavotsavam” organised in Kalyana Vedika at Tirumala.
The glory of Carnatic Music reached its pinnacle with great compositions of Tyagayya and hence he was given the title “Nada Brahma”, he added. In 1839 he happened to visit Tirumala and penned some noteworthy keertans including “Terateeyaga Rada”, “Venkatesa Ninu Sevimpa”, “Evarini Sevinthura”, “Srivenkatesa Suprakasa”.
The artistes presented the Pancharatna kritis in mellifluous manner and enthralled the devotees.
Eminent artistes like Hyderabad Brothers Sri Seshchari and Sri Raghava chari, Sri P Ramanathan renowned violinist, Smt Deepthi from Kaasi, Sri Ayyagari Satya prasad veena expert and others also graced the occasion.
Special officer Sri Munirathnam Reddy, Music and Dance college principal Smt Padmavathi, DEO Sri Ramachandra were also present.
