Tirumala,03August2019:TTD special Officer ,Sri AV Dharma Reddy exhorted students of Veda studies that the gist of vedas and ancient knowledge should be imparted to future generations to promote righteous and moral bound lifestyles in society.
Speaking at the 127th convocation of the DharmagiriVeda Vignana Peetham on Saturday he said TTD set up Veda Pathashala to rejuvenate the eclipsing Veda studies by providing free education,economic support and basic facilities . As a result thousands of students were popularising the importance of Veda. He also applauded the patents of students who encouraged their wards in Vedic studies.
He said the Veda teachers were also second to none in professional excellence where money is not everything and satisfaction and happiness were always predominant. Same way temple priests also should function dynamically to impart mental satisfaction to devotees. The students who had gained knowledge of Vedas, Agamas and Smartha should become guides to others to lead a righteous lifestyle
Veda Vignan Peetham Principal Sri Kuppa Venkata Shiva Subramanyam Avadhani highlighted its 136 years chequered history and said 610 students in 17 faculties led by 50 teachers were presently engaged in the peetham.
He said students of the 12 year long Vedic studies attracted TTD financial grantbof ₹3 lakhs in bank deposits as against only ₹ 1 lakh for those choosing eight years courses.The students received these funds including the interest accrued after the completion of studies. They also became eligible for professional posts of Veda pundits, archakas,Purohits , teachers and also a dignified status in the society.
Thereafter the Tirumala Special Officer presented certificates and 10 gram gold medals to all 31 graduates of the Peetham. They included Rigveda- 6, Shukla Yajur Veda-2, Krishna Yajur Veda ( Taitiriya wing) -8, Krishna Yajur Veda ( Maitrayana wing)-2, Sama Veda ( Kautthuma wing)-2, Sama Veda ( Jaiminiya wing)-3, Atharveda -1, Vaikhanasa agama-3,Sainagam-1, Shukla Yajur Veda smartha-1, Krishna Yajur Veda Smartha -1.
The Special officer also felicitated the students personally with a shawl. Teachers,students of Vidhya Peetham and parents participated in the event.
