INCIDENT FREE BRAHMOTSAVAMS IS OUR MOTTO-EO




Tirumala, 31 Aug. 19: Elaborate arrangements are underway for the mega religious event of annual brahmotsavams of Srivaru at Tirumala which are scheduled from September 30 to October 8, said TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal Kumar.

After a high level review meeting along with the District Collector Sri Bharat Narayan Gupta and Tirupati Urban SP Sri Anburajan, Special Officer Sri AV Dharma Reddy and CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti and other senior officers of TTD which held at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Saturday, the EO briefed media on the arrangements in place for annual brahmotsavams.

He said Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be conducted on September   24 and Ankurarpanam on September 29. The other important days includes Dhwajarohanam (5.23pm to 6pm in Meena Lagnam) on September 30, Garuda Seva (7pm till 12 midnight)on October 4, Swarna Ratham (4pm-6pm)on October 5, Rathotsavam (7am)on October 7 and Chakrasnanam on October 8.

He said Rs.7.53crores have been sanctioned to take up Engineering works including civil and electrical both at Tirumala and Tirupati in view of annual brahmotsavams. About 37 LED screens will be installed which includes 21 in Four Mada streets, 13 out side temple and 3 in Tirupati. We already have 306 urinals in the galleries of four mada streets and another180 mobile urinals will be arranged for the occasion. An additional parking area will be created at Outer Ring Road and also at SPT area this year to hold nearly 8500 vehicles. 

The hill town will be under the surveillance of 1500 CC cameras and 1200 TTD vigilance staff apart from 4200 police, 3500 Srivari Seva volunteers and 1500 Scouts and Guides, 200 additional staff of TTD at different galleries to render service to the scores of visiting pilgrims.

On the sanitation front, 1088 sanitary workers will be deployed with additional manpower of 665 on Garuda Seva day. While 2 medical centers, 6 dispensaries, 11 PHCs, 45 doctors, 95 paramedical staff and 12 Ambulanceswill be exclusively deployed by the Medical Department.

Apart from TTD, the District Collector has also assured to provide the assistance from the district side by deploying expert doctors and paramedical staff for brahmotsavams, EO added.

The APSRTC is set to operate 2200 round (Up and Down) trips daily during Brahmotsavams to transport 1.5 lakh devotees while on Garuda Seva day, they will ply 3000 round trips and transport nearly 2 lakh devotees.

Elaborating on the cultural programmes, the EO said, nearly 25-30 teams with 400-500 artistes will participate in cultural programs during the annual brahmotsavams. Teams from AP, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, Odisha, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat have already given their consent while negotiations are going on with few more states, he maintained.

At Kalyana vedika, the exhibition will be set up by the Garden, PR (Photography) and Musuem wings of TTD to attract millions of pilgrims during these days. About 40 tonnes of 12 varieties of flowers will be used for floral decorations in side temple, vahanams, outside and at the expo all in the form of donations, he said.

Like in previous years, Arjita sevas, privileged darshans will be cancelled from September 28-October 10 in view of Brahmotsavams. Similarly, the special darshan for elders, physically challenged persons and parents with infants are also cancelled. All privileges to donors remain suspended during the period. In view of Garuda Seva on October 4, no cottages will be allotted even to self donors from October 2 to 4, the EO maintained.
  
Later the District Collector, SP also stated that co-operation will be extended from their side towards the smooth conduct of annual brahmotsavams.
