Plastic Ban in Tirumala in a Phased Manner

Tirumala, 13 Aug. 19: While stepping towards a complete plastic ban in Tirumala, the Special Officer Sri AV Dharma Reddy advocated initially the departments in TTD at Tirumala should completely give up plastic bottle usage in their respective offices.

During the weekly review meeting at Annamaiah Bhavan on Tuesday, the SO called upon the officials to work on completely banning the usage of plastic bottles in their offices. He also complimented the Health Department of TTD in Tirumala for observing the total ban on the usage of plastic bottles from the past one week and sought other departments to follow the same.

Later he instructed the SE Electrical Sri Venkateswarulu, TTD PRO Dr T Ravi, SVBC CEO Sri Nagesh Kumar to give wide publicity on complete usage of plastic in Tirumala in a phased manner for the awareness of the pilgrims through Radio and Broadcasting announcements, social media messages and in the form of push notifications respectively. "First let us strictly observe the plastic ban in our departments and later implement the same in big hotels in Tirumala. Give wide publicity that the RO water and Jalaprasadam which is supplied by TTD at Tirumala free of cost is cent percent pure and safer than the mineral water available in plastic bottles", he added.
