Rice Millers Association Agrees to Reduce the Price on Rice Supply - SO

Tirumala, 17 Aug. 19: The Special Officer Sri AV Dharma Reddy said the rice millers have agreed to reduce price of rice supplied to TTD by one rupee for next three months as their contribution towards the Nitya Anna Prasadam program.

Speaking to media persons after a meeting with Rice Millers Association including those of AP and Telangana at the Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Saturday the Special Officer said the millers had agreed to provide rice at 37 per kg instead of existing price 38.
He said the rice millers had positively responded to his appeal for providing free rice to TTD. TTD is currently providing free Anna Prasadam to 1,60,000 pilgrims daily. The millers have agreed to provide 375 quintals of rice in the form of donation.

Sri Gummadi Venkateswara Rao and Sri Mohan Rao Chairman and General secretary of All India Rice Millers Association said that they would discuss with other district associations and strive to provide more free rice for the pilgrim initiative Annaprasadam programme which has taken up by TTD since 1980s.

AP rice miller’s association general secretary Sri Hanumanta Rao, Telangana Rice Millers Association Vice-president Sri Rajeshwar Rao, TTD marketing GM Sri Jagadeswara Reddy, and Anna Prasadam OSD Sri S Venugopal, catering officer Sri GLN Shastri participated.
