The
trainee Civil Servants, who are attending the 94th Foundation Course, being conducted
by Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with immense
fervour and grandeur. It involved the sthapana
of the idol of Lord Ganesha, the God of prosperity and success, with festive
music and dance, by Sri Harpreet Singh, IAS,
Additional Director General, Dr MCR HRD Institute& Course Directorat
Vivekananda Block of the Institute.A large number of the trainee Civil
Servants, Officers, Faculty, and Staff the Institute participated in the
celebrations with their families and friends.This was followed by pooja in
which everyone participated with great reverence.
The
trainee Civil Servants presented electrifying free style dance performances and
entertained the audience. The feet tapping songs, with the trainee Civil
Servants grooving energetically to the beats, brought out the true essence of
this grand festival.
Sri Harpreet Singh
said that Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, who epitomises
learning, knowledge, and prosperity, which are the prerequisites for achieving
development and welfare for all sections of society. “May this festival of
Ganesh Chaturthi remove
all obstacles and bring all-round development, harmony, and prosperity to all,”
he added.
The
event was preceded by the distribution of eco-friendly Ganapati, made of clay, among
the Trainees, Officers, Faculty, Staff of the Institute, by Sri B P Acharya, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary
to Government & DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute, to drive home the green message.
“The
objective of this initiative was to create wider awareness among people to use eco-friendly
Ganapati Idols and make the festival pollution-free,which is in the best
interests of the environment”, Sri
Acharya said and added that the Ganapatiidols,made of clay,symbolize the
spirituality and simplicity of Indian culture.
On
this occasion, a laddu making completion was held in which Miss Ritu Singh, ISS
and Miss Suman Patel, ISS turned out to be the winners. A Mini Marathon was also organizedon the campus
of the Institute.In the men’s category, Mr
Shaswath, ISS, Mr Naresh,ISS,
and Mr Abhishek, IPS, bagged the
first, second, and third prizes, respectively. In the women’s category, Miss Urvashi Shekhawat, IPS, Miss Lovepreet Kaur,ICAS, and Shreya Gupta,
IPS won the first, second, and third prizes, respectively.
The
event was jointly organised by Officers Club, Film & Fine Arts Club, and
Social Welfare Club ofthe 94th Foundation Course.Sri D Manohar, General Manager (Facilities) provided the required
help to the office bearers of the Clubs in organizing the event successfully.
