Water to Tirumala From Balaji Reservoir - TTD Chairman

Tirupati, 6 Sep. 19: To meet the water needs of devotees visiting Tirumala, plans are in offing on how to draw the waters from Balaji Reservoir,  said TTD Trust Board Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy.

After an inspection of the Balaji reservoir with TTD officials on Friday evening, he said the feasibility was being studied for bringing water via Mallemadugu to Kalyani dam as the reservoir has a link to Galeru Nagari project. The reservoir also has a catchment area of 75 km in the Seshachala hillocks and has one tmc of water availability.

He said it was the commitment of the AP Chief Minister Sri YS Jaganmohan Reddy to ensure a permanent solution to the water needs of the multitude of devotees who throng Tirumala every day.

He said the proposal would be placed before the TTD board and implemented on war footing to resolve the water needs of the Tirumala shrine permanently.

Brushing aside the mudslinging acts of the opposition parties,  the Chairman said, there is no harm to the sanctity and serenity of Tirumala. "Since the AP CM belongs to other faith,  the opposition is leaning to mean tactics by spreading false news on evangelism. But people are watching everything. I urge all not to believe in such false propaganda",  he maintained.

Local MLA Sri B Karunakar Reddy, Tirumala Special Officer Sri AV Dharma Reddy, CE Sri Ramachandra Reddy, and others were also present.
