Abudhabi Bathukamma 2019 Celebrations

Telangana Friends Association of Abu Dhabi, UAE celebrated state floral festival, “Bathukamma Sambaralu” in a grand manner in “India Social and Cultural Centre”, Abu Dhabi, on Saturday, 5th October 2019 evening, where the event was attended by approx.1,000 nos. comprising Telanganites & Telugu speaking families in UAE.

Considering the difficulty of getting variety of flowers in UAE, organizers made extensive efforts to bring multi colour flowers for the preparation of bathukammas from India.  Organizers carried out month long practice sessions of various dance forms that will be played on the event day. 

Event started with gathering of all Telangana families with variety of floral Batukammas in   different sizes at 4pm. Batukammas were welcomed in Telangana traditional style Dappulu.

Batukamma Sambaralu began with josh filled by Anchor & T News Dhoom Dham Muchatlu fame Miss. Udayasree. Traditional dances by women & girls to the tunes of Batukamma songs filled festive fervor. Popular Telangana folk singers & TV artists Mr.Kokila Nagaraju and Mr.Sai Chand enhanced the zeal and compelled all family members (couples & kids) to join the traditional dances. All three artists ensured that event is fully charged with Batukamma festival josh.

Batukamma celebration dance by women & girls with traditional attires on popular Batukamma & other folk songs made the event splendid. Telugu speaking families in UAE took this opportunity to assemble and exchange Dasara festive greetings on this occasion.


Organisers announced attractive prizes for best Bathukammas, best traditionally dressed girls, best dancing couples before proceeding to the Batukamma Nimajjanam. Event ended with traditional puja of Batukammas’ and Nimajjanam in makeshift water ponds followed by Prasadam distribution.

Organising Committee (comprising of Gopal, Kamlakar, Srinivas Reddy, Vamshi, Ganga reddy, Raja Srinivasa Rao, Santosh, Ashok, Jagadish, Pavani, Archana, Latha, Vanitha, Manju, Lakshmi etc.) thanked all participants & sponsors and bid good bye to the annual Batukamma celebrations for 2019.
