Tirupati, 11 Dec. 19: The most auspicious event, Karthika Deepotsavam was celebrated with religious fervour in all the TTD local temples in and around Tirupati on Wednesday evening.
Karthika Deepam is a festival of lights that is observed by Hindus in the month of Kārthika (mid-November to mid-December). This occurs on the day when the moon is in conjunction with the constellation Karthika (Pleiades) and Pournami.
The festival will be observed in the most colourful manner by decorating the temple premises with ghee lit lamps all over in the evening.
This event was observed in a grand manner at Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple, Sri Govinda Raja Swamy Temple, Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple, Narayanavanam and Karvetinagaram temples of TTD in a big way.
Tirupati JEO Sri P Basanth Kumar, Temple DyEO Smt Varalakshmi and others took part.
