Makara Jyothi seen at Sabarimala, Devotees return with a filled heart




On the twilight of Makarasankrama day, Sabarimala echoed the Sarana Mantra (chanting). The long wait of the devotees has come to a pious end when the Makara Jyothi appeared three times at Ponnambalamedu. It was a great experience. The air in Sabarimala and Sannidhanam as a whole were thick with divinity. Devotees had a sumptuous vision of the Makara Jyothi.

The thiruvabharana procession that departed from Pandalam two days ago and received many welcomes at various places reached at Saramkuthi around 5.30 in the evening. Sabarimala executive officer VS Rajendra Prasad, accompanied by a staff of Ayyappa Seva Sangham, received it and welcomed it to Sannidhanam. The Thiruvabharanam was taken to the Holy steps and the other items for the rituals at Malikappuram were taken there separately. The thiruvabharanam was received at the holy steps by the Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran and others.

Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran, Devaswom Board President N Vasu, members N Vijayakumar, KS Ravi, KU Janesh Kumar MLA, Devaswom Principal Secretary KR Jyothilal, Justice Arijit Pasayath, District Colletor PB Nooh, IG S Sreejith, Sabarimala ADM NSK Umesh, were there to receive the Thiruvabharanam.  Tantri Kantararu Mahesh Mohanaru and Chief Priest Areekara Sudheer Nampoothiri received the golden ornaments at the sanctum sanctorum and during the deeparadhana adorned it on the idol of Lord Ayyappa.  Mahesh Mohan and Tantri Kandar Mahesh Mohaner were welcomed in the sanctum sanctorum. Then, after the deeparadhana, the Makara Vilakku appeared three times in the golden sky. Sabarimala inundated with Sarana chantings.
