Lord Embraces Animals Too During Lockdown

Tirupati, 11 Apr. 20: The world-renowned Hindu Religious Organisation of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has once again proved that it is undoubtedly one of the outstanding Socio-Religious organizations in the country, not just because it attracts millions of devotees every year but also its gesture to feed the homeless, aged and now even the stray animals during the high hour of lockdown period.

Following the COVID 19 lockdown, the TTD has jumped into action to provide food to not only to daily wagers and destitute but also to street animals including stray dogs with two meals a day.

Taking a humanitarian approach the TTD has commenced supply of fodder and feed to stray animals from the past two weeks in temple city following the closure of small and big hotels.

The lockdown has drastically impacted on the life style of beggars, daily earners. TTD is already supplying 50,000 food packets twice a day to these people. Taking a step ahead, TTD has started addressing the needs of stray animals also. TTD took stock of the situation to resolve the transportation hassles affecting the fodder supplies for
livestock in the SV Goshala.

TTD officials dress up an action plan to provide succour to street animals as well:

TTD arranged green grass and fodder to the cattle wandering on the streets of Tirupati, Tiruchanoor and other locations like Ayodhya swami ashram, Nava Jeevan ashram, Radha Govinda Ashram etc. Go Shala Director of Goshala Dr Harinath Reddy is supervising all distributions of fodder to these stray animals. Some stray animals in the Alipiri link bus stand are being handed over to TMC.
From April 1 onwards, 3 metric tons of grass and 300 kg of feed are being supplied per day and the TTD is committed to feed the starving animals till the lifting of the lockdown, says Dr Reddy.

TTD has also been providing food to nearly 500 street dogs with a view to resolve the suffering of these animals in the absence of food joints and has roped in services of volunteers of the Animal Care says, Dr Srikanth of Animal care.
