Tirumala, 7 Apr. 20: The annual three-day Salakatla Vasanthotsavams concluded in Tirumala temple on  Tuesday.

On the final day Sri Malayappa Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi, Sri Rama with Sita Devi, Lakshmana Swamy and Anjaneya Swamy and Sri Krishna Swamy with Rukmini Devi were rendered celestial bath inKalyanotsava Mandapam.

It was a visual feast to the devotees who are present globally to witness the snapana tirumanjanam to all the nine utsavarulu at a time through the live streaming of the religious event on SVBC.

This religious event took place between 2pm and 4pm. In view of the COVID 19 lockdown restrictions, TTD performed the event in Kalyanotsava Mandapam this year instead of Vasanthotsava Mandapam.

In the presence of HH Sri Pedda Jiyar Swamy of Tirumala, HH Sri Chinna Jiyar Swamy of Tirumala, Chief Priests Sri Venugopala Deekshitulu, Sri Anantasayana Deekshitulu performed snapanam to deities with curd, honey, turmeric and other aromatic sacred ingredients.

TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, Temple DyEO Sri Harindranath were also present.

Speaking on this occasion, the TTD EO said, the annual Vasanthotsavams are being observed in Tirumala every year from the last five centuries. The three-day event was observed in a solemn manner at Kalyanotsava Mandapam in view of the ongoing COVID 19 lockdown restrictions.

The EO again clarified via media and appealed to the devotees not to fall prey to the baseless rumours being spread by some vested elements on Social Media about the various religious activities in Tirumala.

Brushing aside all the recent allegations about deviation in the performance of daily rituals, the EO said, TTD has only closed darshan for devotees under the instructions of Central and State governments in view of the spread of dreadful Corona COVID 19 virus. "But the daily rituals to the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara from Suprabhatam to Ekantam are being performed by the Archaka swamys without deviation as per Agamas under the supervision of Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jiyar Swami of Tirumala. In spite of our repeated clarifications, these miscreants are spreading wrong news via Social Media platform. I pray lord to give them wisdom and avoid spreading
false news against TTD", he added.

To tackle the COVID 19 virus spread, on the request of District Collector we have released Rs.19crore towards the purchase of Ventilators and other necessary medical equipment to be placed at Sri Padmavathi Medical Hospital. We have already given Rs.8crore and remaining Rs.11crore will be sanctioned soon. Apart from this we are providing free meals to thousands of homeless labour and also providing them shelter in our choultries in Tirupati", the EO maintained.
