Gokulastami Asthanam on 12th Aug & Utlotsavam on 13th Aug at Tirumala

 

Tirumala, 8 Aug. 20: On the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami on August 12, TTD is organising the Asthanam at the Srivari temple in ekantham in view of COVID-19 restrictions.

 

The Asthanam will be held near Bangaru vakili in the evening between 6pm and 8pm when utsava idols of Sri Krishna and His consort were seated on the golden Sarvabhoopala vahanam. The utsava idols of Sri Urga Srinivasamurthy and others will be rendered Tirumanjanam and Dwadasaradhanam as well in Ekantam.

         

UTLOTSAVAM ON AUGUST 13

 

As part of the annual festival of Utlotsavam on August 13, Asthanam will be held at Ranganayakula Mandapam for utsava idols of Sri Malayappa Swamy and Sri Krishna Swamy after a grand procession on Bangaru Tiruchi inside Srivari temple in the evening.

 

It may be recalled that the annual festival was a feast for devotees as the procession of utsava idols was conducted on Mada streets to the dancing and striking of butter vessels hung high on the streets by the youth. 

 

But this year both festivals of Gokulastami Asthanam and Utlotsavam will be conducted in Ekantham in view of Covid-19 restrictions.
