Review Meeting on Covid Pandemic Held






 

Tirupati, 26 Aug. 20: To assess the COVID pandemic situation in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, so as to avoid further spread of the deadly virus among employees of TTD with timely measures, a review meeting was held by EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal along with District Collector Sri Bharat Narayan Gupta and other authorities of TTD in the Conference Hall of TTD Administrative Building on Wednesday evening.

 

During the review meeting, the EO said that the overall trend of the incidence of Corona cases amongst the TTD employees and also in Tirupati Municipal Corporation limits is a favourable and considerable reduction in the cases has been noticed. The occupancy rate in Rest Houses turned COVID Care Centres including Madhavam, Srinivasam and Vishnunivasam have also come down as many rooms in the rest houses are lying vacant, he added. 

 

The EO said, amongst the TTD employees who are tested so far, only 69 are undergoing treatment and their condition is also stable. However, for the 2500 FMS and Outsourcing employees who are working in Tirumala are yet to be tested. "By carrying out 200 RTPCR and 300 Rapid Antigen Tests each day we can complete the tests to all of them in the next five days", the EO said. The Collector agreed to send the mobile van to Tirumala to complete the tests within the stipulated time.

 

The Collector also stated that the tests have also been increased across the district and said the Positive Rate is reduced. The present status of the procurement of the COVID equipment and kits with the financial aid being provided by TTD to District Administration was also reviewed.  

 

The EO also reviewed the Medical waste including the PPE kits, Mask, Gloves etc. in the premises of COVID Hospitals and Rest Houses turned COVID centres. The Collector said the Medical wastes accumulated near the COVID care centres and hospitals are being segregated from food waste and removed on a regular basis.  The EO instructed TTD Health Wing officials to ensure that appropriate action in connection with any Medical waste if any available at Tirumala should be taken immediately.

 

Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, JEO Sri P Basanth Kumar, CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, CE Sri Ramesh Reddy, Joint Collector Sri Veerabrahmam, Assistant Collector Sri Vishu Charan, Additional CVSO Sri Siva Kumar Reddy, Health Officer Dr RR Reddy, Additional Health Officer Dr Sunil Kumar, CMO Dr Narmada, DyEO General Sri Ramesh Babu were also present.
