Rejuvenation of Alipilri Footpath Route for the Benefit of Devotees - TTD Chairman

 The Bhoomi Puja for the rejuvenation works of the Alipiri footpath route from Alipiri to GNC was performed at Alipiri on Monday by TTD Trust Board Chairman Sri Y V Subba Reddy along with Deputy CM Sri Narayanaswamy and TUDA Chairman and TTD Ex-officio member Dr C Bhaskar Reddy.

 

Speaking on this occasion, the Chairman said, the footpath route which was constructed over two and a half decades ago was in a bad shape. So TTD has decided to rejuvenate the shelter all along the 7.6km trek route from Alipiri to the GNC toll gate at Tirumala for the benefit of the safety and security of devotees.

 

Usually, during normal days around 20,000 devotees walk to Tirumala via this footpath while during summer vacation and auspicious days the number shoots up to over 40,000.

The TTD engineering officials have made an estimation of 25 crore for a complete overhaul of the footpaths with - roof slab, drinking water pipelines, toilets, health centers, security outposts, electricity and broadcasting (Public Address System) cables. Reliance Industries Limited has come forward to take up the works on a donation basis for TTD.

 

Adding further he said, there has been a delay in the commencement of the footpath rejuvenation works due to the Covid pandemic. However, he said, the Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri YS Jaganmohan Reddy has instructed to complete the work as soon as possible in view of the benefit of the pilgrims", he maintained.

 

The Chairman said, when late Sri YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the Srivari Mettu footpath renovation project completed. And now during his son's regime as AP CM, the renovation of Alipiri footpath project taken up as per the wish of Lord Venkateswara", he observed.

 

Reliance Industries Limited State Head for Constructions Sri AVVS Rao said, it is a privilege to be a part in this prestigious project and expressed his confidence that they will definitely complete the rejuvenation works of the Alipiri footpath route on time for the benefit of the pilgrims.

 

Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, JEO Sri P Basanth Kumar, CE Sri Ramesh Reddy, EE Sri Chandrasekhar, AVSO Sri Surendra and others were also present.
