Governor dedicates Diwali to soldiers























Hyderabad, Nov 14: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has dedicated the Diwali celebrations to the soldiers guarding our borders.

In response to the call given by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, the Governor said on Saturday that she was dedicating the Diwali to the brave soldiers working at the country’s borders and were making supreme sacrifices for protecting the country’s unity and integrity.

She saluted the soldiers for all their sacrifices and service to the nation.

The Governor was addressing at the Deepawali and Children’s Day celebrations held at the Raj Bhavan, here on Saturday evening.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan appealed to the people to buy material, dresses and any other item useful for the Diwali celebrations from the local traders so as to economically empower them.

The Governor stated that though due to the Covid-19 conditions, the celebrations were of low key, the spirit of celebration is high.

“Even the White House in the USA and many parliament buildings in different countries were illuminated in view of the Diwali celebrations. We hope that next year Diwali celebrations will be celebrated in Covid-free conditions,” she added.

The Governor appreciated the Raj Bhavan family children for their enthralling performances on the occasion of Diwali and Children’s Day.

Later, the Governor presented the Raj Bhavan family members with sweet boxes and extended greetings.

Governor appreciated Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan and his team for the enthusiastic festive celebrations.
