Sri Tulasi Dhaatri Sahita Damodara Puja Performed in Vasantha Mandapam

Tirumala, 26 Nov. 20: Advocating that the Tulasi Vivaham is observed for the well being of all the living beings in the universe, said Sri Sri Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamy of Kanchikamakoti Peetham.


The pontiff who graced the celestial fete, that was conducted at Vasantha Mandapam on Thursday, said, Tulasi Vivaham occupies an important place in the Hindu Sanatana Dharma. In the life cycle of a human being, the marital phase has a significant role to play. Tulsi has got both the spiritual and medicinal values in it. Hence, Tulasi- the holy basil is considered most sacred and a pious plant in every Hindu household. The women offer regular pujas to the Tulasi plant with utmost reverence seeking prosperity and longevity of their husband's life", he added.


Later he appreciated the Karthika Masa Deeksha programme mulled by TTD authorities in Vasantha Mandapam and said these activities will glorify Hindu Sanatana Dharma. 


Earlier, he participated in Sri Tulasi Dhaatri Sahita Damodara Archanam, Kalyanam and Puja programmes. The murthies of lord and goddesses were brought to Vasanta Mandapam and Agama Advisor Sri Mohana Rangacharyulu explained the importance of the day programme. Later celestial Kalyanam has been performed to Tulasi and Amla plant. The replica of Goddess Tulasi stood as special attraction.


Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, Agama Advisor Sri Sundaravaradan, Chief Priest Sri Venugopala Deekshitulu and others were also present.
