Kurnool Police Grounds Shines Bright with Lakshmi Deepotsavam

Kurnool, 8 Jan. 21: The spacious APSP grounds in Kurnool City turned out to be cynosure in the dazzling shine of thousands of ghee lit lamps on Friday evening and echoing to the divine namas as part of Dhanurmasa Lakshmi Deeparadhana organised by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.


The grand religious event was graced by Mantralaya Peethadhipathi HH Sri Sri Subudendratheertha, during his Anugraha Bhashanam said, the festival of lights in the sacred Dhanurmasa will yield fruits equal to one thousand years.  He lauded the efforts of TTD for organising various spiritual programmes and instilling courage among devotees during pandemic situation. He also appreciated the darshan and other facilities arranged by TTD in Tirumala and ensuring hassle free darshan to devotees following all Covid norms. 


In his speech, TTD EO Dr KS Jawahar Reddy said, ever since lock down, TTD has been organizing various spiritual programmes which are being telecast live on SVBC and well received by devotees across the globe. He also said special homams including Dhanavratam, Sri Vratam, and Kubera Vratam etc. Were also performed in Vedic university in Tirupati to over come the financial crisis caused due to Corona pandemic. The spiritual programmes by TTD on one hand and the Government policies on the other hand have resulted in restricting covid cases to one per cent, he observed. 


Earlier the Vedic pundits offered special puja to deities of Sri Srinivasa Swamy flanked by Sridevi and Bhudevi along with Goddess Lakshmi was also offered pujas. 


The artistes performed the Astalakshmi Nrutyam on the celestial occasion. Devotees took part in this event in huge numbers following Covid norms of social distancing. Annamacharya Project artistes presented Govinda Namas.


The grand event concluded with the litting of ghee lamps. The arial view of the lamps provided a feast to the devotees who witnessed the programme on SVBC. 


Local MLA Sri K Rambhupal Reddy, DIG Sri Venkatrami Reddy, District Collector Sri Veera Pandian, SP Dr K Fakeerappa, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, Corporation Commissioner Sri Balaji and others were also present.
