Purandara Dasa Aradhana Mahotsavams in Tirumala from 10th 12th Feb

Tirumala, 08 February 2021: The Aradhana Mahotsavams of Karnataka Sangeeta Pitamaha Sri Purandhara Dasa will be observed from February 10-12 at Tirumala.


Born in 1480 in Karnataka, Sri Srinivasa Nayaka turned into Purandara Dasa later and penned nearly 4.75lakh Sankeertans in his 84years of lifespan and breathed his last in 1564.


Like Telugu Pada Pitamaha Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, Sri Purandhara Dasa also did a great service to Lord Venkateswara through his impeccable Sankeertans. As a tribute to this great Saint Poet of Kannada, TTD has been observing Sri Purandhara Dasa Aradhana Mahotsavams every year since the inception of Dasa Sahitya Project in 1979. The visit of Sri Malayappa Swamy along with His two Consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi to Narayanagiri Gardens on the occasion of Purandhara Dasa Aradhana Mahotsavams commenced in the year from 2006 onwards by TTD.


During this three day programme, Sri Vidyasreesha Theertha Swamy of Vyasaraja Mutt, Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamy of Puttige Mutt, Sri Vidhadheesha Theertha Swamy of Palimaru Mutt, Sri Vidyaprasanna Theertha Swamy of Kukke Subrahmanyam will render Anugraha Bhashanam at Asthana Mandapam on February 10 and 11 between 9:30am and 12noon. The top brass officials of TTD will also take part in this programme.


On February 11, there will be Unjal Seva to the processional deities in Narayanagiri Gardens at 6pm. Suprabhatam, Dhyanam, Community Bhajan, Nagara Sankeertana will also be conducted during these days.


The three-day Aradhana Mahotsavam programme will conclude with Haridasa Rasa Ranjani with Dasa artistes on February 12 at Tirumala.
