Sri Rama Navami in Tirumala on 21st April

Tirumala, 19 April 2021: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will observe the religious event of ‘Sri Rama Navami Asthanam’ at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala on April 21 as per Covid norms.

The Temple priests offer ‘Snapana Tirumanjanam’ to the processional idols of Sri Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Anjaneya Swamy at the Ranaganayakula Mandapam inside Sri Vari temple in the morning.

Legend has it that Sri Maha Vishnu had taken birth on the earth as a human being  (Sri Rama) to annihilate the demons in Tretayuga. Sri Rama was His seventh incarnation and known for His steadfast adherence to Dharma.

He is considered to have been an embodiment of truth and morality by being an ideal son, ideal husband, and above all, an ideal king and hence worshipped as "Purushottama". Infact all these qualities made Sri Rama a Universal Almighty across the globe.

Later in the evening of Wednesday, Sri Rama takes celestial ride on ‘Hanumanta Vahanam’ along four mada streets.

In the night, between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., Sri Rama Navami Asthanam takes place at Bangaru Vakili inside temple.
