Tirumala Reverberates to Annamaiah Sankeerthana

 Tirumala, 08 April 2021:The serene precincts of Tirumala reverberated to the melodious notes of Annamaiah Sankeertans rendered by the artistes of Annamacharya Project on the occasion of 518th Death Anniversary of the saint poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya.

 

Sriman Srivan Satagopa Ranganatha Yateendra Mahadesikan Swami, the 46th Pontiff of Ahobila Mutt in his Anugraha Bhashanam said there is a great bond between Tirumala and Ahobilam. Likewise a great bond exists between Sri Mahadesikan and Annamacharya. On Acharya Mahadesikan's advice only Annamacharya penned 32thousnd Sankeertans signifying the 32letter Beejakshara mantra as taught by him. 

 

He also said though there are many devotional sankeertanas even in other languages, the beauty of Telugu Sankeertans penned by Annamacharya in praise of Sri Venkateswara as well on Ahobila Narasimha are beyond comparison.

 

The seer also complimented TTD for organising Parayanams and various devotional programs to overcome the bad effects of Corona Covid virus.

 

Later EO Dr KS Jawahar Reddy, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti felicitated the Pontiff on the occasion and took his blessings. 

 

The descendants of Annamacharya were also felicitated on the occasion. 

 

Annamacharya Project Director Sri Dakshinamurthy carried out the proceedings of the programme.

 

Earlier the senior artistes of Annamacharya Project rendered Sapthagiri Sankeertana Gosthi Ganam in a melodious manner in the divine  presence of Sri Malayappa Swamy, Sridevi and Bhudevi on finely decked swing at Narayanagiri Gardens.

 

The entire event lasted for nearly two hours in a grand manner amidst Covid guidelines.

 

VGO Sri Bali reddy, temple peishkar Sri Srihari and others were also present.
