Festivals are all about celebration. Festivals bring Joy. So, starting this Dussehra, me, my team & my family have decided to celebrate festivals with a meaning, with a cause, with an aim to bring happiness to the lives of the needy.
Hence “Festivals for Joy” has been started.
Our Motto going forward is to make every festival a festival of true joy from within… by connecting beneficiaries with donors.
This Dussehra, as we celebrate Maa Durga and womanhood, our Campaign is “Shakthi Swaroopini”.
The services taken up and completed with the help of donors this Dusshera are
1. Identifying 10 Women from the TV and Film Industry who have various issues varying from loss of work due to COVID to Oldage, death of husband etc., and connecting them to Mr. Eswar Dommaraju from New York. He has helped them by providing groceries for the next one year, and an insurance cover of 2 Lakh rupees to each one of them.
2. Connecting Prajwala Foundation (Headed by Dr. Sunitha Krishnan) with Mr. Vidhya Garapati, TANA Foundation Trustee, USA. Mr. VIDHYA has come forward to sponsor the Economic rehabilitation of 10 Women Trafficking Survivors of Prajwala by helping these women set up various long-term sustainable solutions for a livelihood.
3. Building a park at Prajwala campus. Mrs. Shilpa Popuri and Mr. Shravan Kumar of VShine Foundation are sponsoring the funds required for park thus bringing joy to the kids at Prajwala.
As we go forward, every festival, be it be Diwali, Christmas or Ramzan, FESTIVALS FOR JOY team is going to be the bridge between beneficiaries and donors spreading Joy each festival.
We are releasing the Journey of “Festivals for Joy - Shakthi Swaroopini” in two parts on Suma Kanakala’s YouTube channel ‘Suma’ on October 14th. This is a Suma Kanakala’s initiative.
