As per the instructions of Chief Minister Sri.K.Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Secretary Sri. Somesh Kumar, IAS held a meeting with (36) seed producing companies today at BRKR Bhavan. FCI would not be procuring of paddy in Yasangi season in the state. The Chief Secretary exhorted the seed companies to procure and stock adequate quantity of seeds for alternative crops like Pulses and Oil seeds in Yasangi Season. In Telangana crops like Ground Nut, Green Gram, Black Gram, Bengal Gram, Caster, Bajra, Seasmum etc and oil seeds has good potential for Yasangi.
It is already known that Food
Corporation of India would not be procuring paddy in Yasangi season.
The Chief Secretary informed that all
the District Collectors will be holding a meeting on 25th Monday with
Agriculture, Horticulture department’s officials and scientists to discuss on alternative
crops in the view of FCI decision.
Awareness will be created to farmers
on alternative crops in Yasangi season through 2603 Rythu Vedikas in
Agriculture clusters. Intensive campaign will be conducted on 27th,
28th, 29th October
at cluster level on alternative crops with the Farmers, Agriculture Extension
Officers. The Chief Secretary urged the seed companies to make available adequate
stocks of the seeds to the farmers.
