TTD Executive Officer Dr KS Jawahar Reddy has directed officials to take steps and focus on devotees comforts in the maintenance of rooms and cottages at Tirumala.
Addressing a review meeting on Health, FMS wings at TTD Administrative Building on Thursday evening the TTD EO said directed the Health department to shoulder the responsibility for mass cleaning of footpaths at Tirumala and also ensure clearance of all plastic bottles lying on the roads.
He also directed officials to pay special focus on clearance of landslides, boulders etc. on Ghat roads caused by a heavy downpour. Besides the removal of soils he wanted officials to promote flower gardens in the regions to strengthen the bunds etc. He also directed officials to evacuate the petty traders and shops in the subway below the Lepakshi circle.
He urged officials to take up measures region wise for making Tirumala plastic-free in a phased manner.
The TTD EO also reviewed the cleaning operations in the 7500 rooms at Tirumala and Tirupati. He also enquired about the purchasing of blankets, bedsheets, pillows, and other materials provided in, the rooms and their maintenance. He asked officials to prepare an action plan and also a report on FMS strategy in room maintenance at both Tirumala and Tirupati.
