Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Friday evening celebrated the New Year special cultural event with the Raj Bhavan pariwar members.
The
Governor, joined by her husband, Noted Nephrologist Dr. P. Soundararajan, and
other family members, witnessed the cultural performances by the children of
the Raj Bhavan pariwar members at the Lower Lawns of the Raj Bhavan, here.
Classical
dances, songs, and patriotic performances marked the cultural event, where a
special ballet was performed to pay tributes to the services and sacrifices of
the COVID warriors.
The
Governor congratulated the children for their performances and appreciated
their parents for motivating them to excel in their performances.
“I
wish the New Year-2022 to be a great year heralding happiness, health, and
prosperity to all,” she wished.
The
Governor also cautioned the people to adhere to the COVID-appropriate behavior
and prevent the spread of the Omicron and contain the pandemic.
Dr.
Tamilisai Soundararajan also presented sweets to the children who performed
during the event and to all the Raj Bhavan pariwar members.
Earlier,
the Governor went round the different wings at the Raj Bhavan greeting the
staff members at their desk and wishing them a happy new year-2022, while
thanking them for their services during the last year.
Secretary
to Governor K. Surendra Mohan and other senior officials were present.
