Hyderabad, July 23: Hon’ble Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has offered traditional Bonam and took part in the Ashadamasam Bonalu celebrations at the Raj Bhavan temple, here, on Saturday.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, carrying the
traditional bonam on her head, came in a procession joined by the Raj Bhavan pariwar
members from her official residence to the temple.
The Governor offered Bonam to the presiding deity
Nalla Pochamma at the Raj Bhavan temple and performed puja.
The Raj Bhavan wore a festive look, while the
Telangana Bonalu folk songs rented the air inside the sprawling Raj Bhavan
complex.
“Due to the divine blessings of Goddess Mahankali,
the Covid-19 pandemic was largely contained. All the people returned to their
normal lives, and this year, people are coming to the temples fearlessly to
celebrate this Bonalu festival. I prayed for the prosperity and development of
our nation and Telangana and the wellbeing of all the people,” she said.
The Governor greeted all the employees and their
family members on the occasion.
Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan and other
senior officials joined the Governor in the Bonalu State festival celebrations
in Raj Bhavan.
