Donors From Tiruppur and Decors from Hyderabad Glorify the Ranganayakula Mandapam

After the Japan Apples, Muscat Grapes, Korean Pears, Thai Mangoes, American Cherries, it is now the turn of Saffron threads and Pista-Badam garlands which sanctified their lives in the divine service of Sri Venkateswara during Snapana Tirumanjanam that was held in Ranganayakula Mandapam in Tirumala on Monday.

On the Seventh day afternoon on Monday, the processional deities of Sri Malayappa flanked by Sridevi and Bhudevi were seated on a special platform and were offered the sacred bath with aromatic ingredients. The stage was illuminated and made colourful with Orchids and Lotuses which were hung from the rooftop.

According to Garden Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu, this year, as a special attraction during Snapana  Tirumanjanam, for the first time, garlands and crowns were prepared with the Saffron threads(the styles and stigmas from Crocus sativus-commonly known as saffron flowers). "A kilo of saffron costs nearly Rs.2lakhs and about 3kgs had been used to prepare one garland. The donors were Sri Rajendiran, Sri Shanmuga Sundaram and Sri Bala Subramanyam from Tiruppur of Tamilnadu while the entire preparation and making were done by Ambica Flora of Hyderbad. Around 60 florists worked for days and nights under the supervision of Sri Srinivas, the Chief of Ambica to make these garlands with spices and nuts with finesse.

Among the other garlands and crowns that were decked to the deities during Snapanam included figs and apricots, Pista-Badam-Cardomom, jowar etc. After the completion of each sacred bath, one variety of garland and crown were decorated. Likewise seven types of garlands and crowns were adorned before finally decorated with Tulasi Garlands.

HH Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy of Tirumala, TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy, EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore, temple DyEO Sri Ramesh Babu and others were present.
