Navahnika Karthika Brahmotsavams Off to A Colourful Start in Tiruchanoor









The nine-day Karthika Brahmotsavams of Sri Padmavati Ammavaru, in Tiruchanoor off to a grand start with the Dwajarohanam on Sunday9.45am in the auspicious Mithuna Lagnam amidst chanting of Vedic mantras by temple priests as per the tenets of Pancharatra Agama.


GAJA PATAM INSTALLATION


After awakening the Goddess with Suprabatha Seva, the special rituals for the day started. The sacred flag bearing the image of Gaja - the divine elephant, which serves as the favourite carrier of Goddess, was unfurled in the Yagashala. Later, Gaja Dhyana sloka, Gaja Mangalastakam and Garuda Gadyam were recited as mentioned in the Kashyapa Samhita.


Purnahuti was performed as per Rakshabandhan, Chayadivasam, Chaya Snapanam, Netronmeelanam, Tatwanyasa Homam, Prana Pratista Homam and concluded with Purnahuti before the Gaja flag was brought to the mandapam.


INVITATION TO DEITIES


As part of ritual Viswaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam were performed. Nine Kalashas were filled with holy liquid to welcome Gods of all worlds who were grandly felicitated by chanting of four vedas. Raksha Bandhan was tied to Dwajastambha to ensure smooth conduct of the celestial event.


A unique Raga-Tala-Nivedana was performed to appease the deities with each Raga which included Kalyani, Neelambari, Bhairavi, Mayamalavagowla, Kanada, Sindhu Bhairavi, Sriraagam, Sankarabharanam,  Takkesi,  Sumantha, Ekaranjani and many more were presented in Nadaswaram with different Talas by Nadaswaram artistes.


TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, DyEO Sri Lokanatham, AEO Sri Prabhakar Reddy and others were present. Speaking with media later, the EO said, the annual fete is taking place with the participation of the public after two years of Covid Pandemic. TTD has made elaborate arrangements for the mega religious festival for the devotees to take part in the morning and evening vahana sevas. 


Among religious staffs, Agama Advisor Sri Vempalli Srinivasacharyulu, Archaka Sri Babu Swamy and others were present while Sri Manikantha acted as the Kankanabhattar for the entire event and carried out the rituals.
