Impressive Rathotsavam Fete Held at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Vari Temple

On the eighth day of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavam celebrations of Sri Govindarajaswami temple,grand Rathotsavam fete was observed on, Friday morning.

The colourful fete which began at 07.00 hours went around Karnala  veedhi, Beri Vedhi and Gandhi road before culminating at Ratha Mandapam as a large number of devotees dragged the Ratham, broke coconuts and offered karpora harati all along the route amidst chanting of Govinda namasmararanam,

The significance of the Rathotsavam was indicative of the importance of  Atma in the body with five elements represented in the Ratham.

Thereafter grand snapana thirumanjanam was observed to utsava idols of Sri Govindarajaswami and his consorts. Later in the evening, TTD will conduct unjal seva followed by Aswa vahana Seva at night.

Tirumala pontiffs Sri Sri Sri Pedda jeeyar Swamy and Sri Sri Sri Chinna jeeyar Swamy, Kankana bhattar Sri AP Srinivasa Dikshitulu, Dyeo Smt shanti, AEO Sri Ravi Kumar, superintendent  Sri Narayana, inspector Sri Dhananjeyulu etc were present.
