Acharya Rallapalli Deepta, Head of the Department of English, National Sanskrit University, recalled the efforts versatile scholar Sri Rallapalli Ananthakrishna Sharma, who had immense knowledge in the fields of music and literature, and was a versatile scholar in the history of music and literature.
The 131st birth anniversary program of Sri Rallapalli Ananthakrishna Sharma was celebrated on Tuesday evening at the Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati under the joint auspices of TTD Annamacharya Project and Hindu Dharmic Projects.
On this occasion, Acharya Rallapalli Deepta gave a keynote speech and said that music and literature were like two eyes to Sri Anantakrishna Sharma.
Eminent orator Shri Rallapalli Pradyumna said, Sri Rallapalli knew many languages, and had a vast knowledge of Vaishnavism, and brought the kirtans of Annamacharya etched on the copper plates to light in a very authentic way. He said that the first volume of 120 Annamaiah kirtans composed by him was printed in 1952 and the second volume in 1956.
Earlier, in the morning, TTD officials paid floral tributes to the statue of Sri Rallapalli Anantha Krishna Sharma located on Sri Padmavati Mahila University road.
