Pavitrotsavams at Sri Chennakeshava Swamy Vari Temple, Thallapaka from 28th to 30th Aug

The annual Pavithrotsavams will be observed with religious fervour at Sri Chennakesava Swamy Temple in Tallapaka, Annamayya district, from August 28 to 30, 2025.

As part of the festivities, Punyahavachanam, Rakshabandhanam, Mritsangrahanam, and Ankurarpanam will be performed on August 27.

To protect the sanctity of the temple and atone for any lapses or omissions committed unknowingly by devotees or temple staff during the course of the year, the Pavithrotsavams are conducted every year for three days. Rituals like purification, Punyahavachanam, and other sacred ceremonies are performed as part of the festival.

On August 28, at 9 a.m., Yagashala Puja, Chatushtarchana, Bimba, Mandala, Kumbha Aradhanas, and Pavitra Pratishtha will be held, followed by Pavitra Homams at 6 p.m.

On August 29, at 9 a.m., Vedic rituals in Yagashala including Pavitra Samarpana to the presiding deity, Utsava Murthies, and Parivara Devatas will be performed, followed by Nitya Homams at 6 p.m.

On August 30, at 6 a.m., Pavitra Visarjana, Pavitra Jala Prokshanam, Maha Poornahuti, Pavitra Vitarana will be observed, and at 6 p.m., the grand procession of the Utsava Murthies of Sri Chennakesava Swamy and Ammavaru will take place.

On this occasion, Harikathas and music programs will also be organized under the aegis of TTD’s Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad and Annamacharya Project.
