Progressive Humanitarian Gesture by A TTD Women Employee




In one of its kind progressive humanitarian gestures, a TTD Women Employee, has pledged to donate her body to SVIMS after her demise and her rare decisions has won laurels all over.

Smt. Kattamanchi Indira, the President of the TTD Women's Welfare Association and currently discharging her duties as the Superintendent of the Audit Department, has agreed to donate her body to SVIMS - Sri

Padmavathi Medical College after her death. 


To this effect, she handed over an affidavit to the TTD Executive Officer Sri Anil Kumar Singhal in his chamber at the TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati on Friday.


Speaking on the occasion, Smt. K. Indira said that her husband, Dr. K. Shivaji, who had worked as a faculty member in several corporate colleges, had donated his body to a medical college after his death with the noble intention of being useful to students even after his demise.


Following her husband's wish, she handed over the relevant affidavit to the TTD EO on Friday, expressing her intention that her body should also be useful to medical students after her death.


Appreciating her decision, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal


stated that it is in fact a commendable gesture.


''Making your body useful to medical students rather than letting it decompose in the soil after death is really a unique and commendable gesture'', he maintained.


The Affidavit is forwarded to the officials of the Anatomy Department at Sri Padmavathi Medical College.
