Grand Celebration of Sri Rama Navami at Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple









The Sri Rama Navami festival was celebrated with great grandeur at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati on Friday.


At dawn, the Lord was awakened with Suprabhata Seva and the main deities were offered Abhishekam. From 8 to 9 a.m., the Snapan Tirumanjanam was performed ceremoniously for the festival deities of Sri Sita, Rama, Lakshmana, and Hanuman in the Unjal Mandapam. The deities were bathed with milk, curd, honey, coconut water, turmeric, and sandal paste.


From 3 to 4 p.m., priests from the mutt of Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy brought new garments in a procession around the temple (Vimana Pradakshina) and offered them to the main deities and festival deities. Later, the recitation of Sri Rama Janma Purana and Asthanam were conducted.


From 7 to 9 p.m., Lord Sri Rama, mounted on his beloved devotee Hanuman as the divine vehicle (Hanumanta Vahanam), paraded through the four temple streets, blessing the devotees.


Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, Temple Inspector Sri Suresh, other officials, and a large number of devotees participated in the festivities.
