As part of the annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple at Vontimitta, Sri Sita Rama Lakshmana blessed the devotees on the Simha Vahanam on the third day, Sunday, at 7:00 PM.
Amidst the rhythmic beats of Kerala drums, devotional groups performed Chekka Bhajans and Kolatam, praising the Lord. The procession of the deities was carried out in a grand and festive atmosphere with traditional musical instruments. Devotees offered camphor harati at every step and had darshan of the Lord.
Among the ten incarnations (Dashavatara) of Lord Vishnu, Narasimha is the fourth incarnation, symbolizing the greatness of the lion. In yogic philosophy, the lion represents strength (carrying power) and speed (swift movement). The inner significance of the Vahana Seva is that when a devotee possesses lion-like devotion and strength, the Lord bestows His divine blessings.
Temple Deputy EO Smt. Prashanthi, Superintendent Sri Hanumanthaiah, Temple Inspector Sri Naveen, along with a large number of devotees, participated in the event.
