Brushing aside the controversies making rounds in a section of media and in social media over the safety of TTD gold, the EO once again clarified via media at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala.

He urged the devotees not to believe in this false propaganda which were intentionally created by some vested elements while some unintentionally.

I have already cleared during a press conference on April 23 in Tirupati stating that the PNB has given the transportation of gold to an agency. As per the MoU between these two, the agency has to handover the gold safely to the PNB branch at Tirupati. In spite of the valid documents shown by the agency, the election officials in Tamilnadu seized the gold in view of election code prevailed in Tamilnadu during that time. Later the Tiruvallur Collector has given clean chit on this issue after a thorough inquiry. The PNB later handedover the gold to TTD. I appeal to devotees not to believe in the false propaganda. TTD gold is safe with TTD. We have been spending the offerings made by devotees in hundi or to the trusts in a proper as per the prescribed guidelines. Remaining amount we are depositing in banks", he asserted.
