తిరుమలలోని శాసనాలను అనువదించి శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వరస్వామివారి వైభవం విశ్వవ్యాప్తం కావడానికి కృషి చేసిన మహనీయుడు శ్రీమాన్‌ సాధు సుబ్రహ్మణ్యశాస్త్రి అని అద్దెంకి ప్ర‌భుత్వ క‌ళాశాల విశ్రాంత ప్రిన్సిపాల్  డా|| డా.గాలి గుణ‌శేఖ‌ర్ చెప్పారు. శ్రీమాన్‌ సాధు సుబ్రమణ్యశాస్త్రి 137వ జయంతిని బుధ‌వారం ఘనంగా నిర్వహించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఉద‌యం 9 గంట‌ల‌కు తిరుపతిలోని శ్వేత భవనం ఎదురుగా గల సుబ్రమణ్యశాస్త్రి కాంస్య విగ్రహానికి పుష్పాంజలి సమర్పించారు.

అనంత‌రం సాయంత్రం 6 గంట‌ల‌కు  శ్రీమాన్‌ సాధు సుబ్రహ్మణ్యశాస్త్రి 137వ జ‌యంతి సంద‌ర్భంగా తిరుప‌తిలోని అన్న‌మాచార్య క‌ళామందిరంలో సాయంత్రం 6 గంట‌ల‌కు సాహితీ స‌ద‌స్సు నిర్వ‌హించారు.

ఈ సంద‌ర్భంగా డా|| గాలి గుణ‌శేఖ‌ర్ మాట్లాడుతూ,  శ్రీమాన్‌ సుబ్రమణ్యశాస్త్రి శ్రీవారి ఆలయ పేష్కారుగా ఉంటూ ఎపిగ్రాఫిస్టుగా 1167 రాగిరేకుల శాసనాలను సేకరించి అనువదించినట్టు తెలిపారు. అన్నమయ్య కీర్తనల భాండాగారం నుంచి చాలా రాగి రేకులను వెలికితీసి కీర్తనలను వెలుగులోకి తెచ్చినట్టు వివరించారు. వీటిని 1931వ సంవత్సరంలోనే ఎపిగ్రాఫిక్స్‌ సిరీస్‌గా మద్రాసులోని తిరుపతి శ్రీమహంతుల ప్రెస్‌లో ప్రచురించినట్టు తెలిపారు. దేవస్థానం ఉద్యోగిగా మాత్రమే కాకుండా పురాతన వస్తు పరిశోధనా శాస్త్రవేత్తగా స్వామివారి వైభవాన్ని మొట్టమొదటిసారిగా ఎలుగెత్తి చాటిన ఘనత శాస్త్రికి దక్కిందన్నారు.

త‌రువాత‌ శ్రీ‌మ‌తి సాధు గిరిజాదేవి మాట్లాడుతూ, త‌న తండ్రి టిటిడికి చేసిన సేవ‌ల‌కు గుర్తుగా ప్ర‌తి ఏటా ఆయ‌న జ‌యంతి, వ‌ర్ధంతి కార్య‌క్ర‌మాలు జ‌ర‌ప‌డం ఆనందంగా ఉంద‌న్నారు.

ఈ సందర్భంగా శ్రీ సాధు సుబ్రహ్మ‌ణ్యశాస్త్రి కుమార్తె శ్రీమతి గిరిజాదేవి, మనవడు, జడ్జి శ్రీ సిఎన్.మూర్తిని  అన్న‌మాచార్య ప్రాజెక్టు ప్ర‌త్యేకాధికారి డా.మేడ‌సాని మోహ‌న్‌ సన్మానించి శ్రీవారి ప్రసాదాలను అందించారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో అన్నమాచార్య ప్రాజెక్టు సంచాలకులు శ్రీమతి లత, ఇతర అధికారులు, పుర ప్రజలు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Sriman Sadhu Subrahmanya Sastry, the eminent scholar who translated the inscriptions of Tirumala and played a pivotal role in spreading the glory of  Sri Venkateswara across the world, was a great visionary advocated schloars.

The 137th birth anniversary of Sriman Sadhu Subrahmanya Sastry was celebrated in a grand manner on Wednesday.

On this occasion, floral tributes were offered at to the bronze statue of Subrahmanya Sastry located opposite SVETA Bhavan in Tirupati.

Later in the evening, a literary seminar was organized at Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati, in connection with the 137th birth anniversary celebrations of the versatile scholar.

Speaking on the occasion, scholars stated that Sriman Subrahmanya Sastri, while serving as Peishkar of the Sri Venkateswara Temple, worked as an epigraphist and collected and translated 1,167 copper-plate inscriptions.

They also said several copper plates containing Annamacharya keerthanas were retrieved from the Annamayya Keerthana Bhandagaram and brought to light.

These invaluable works were published as part of the Epigraphics Series as early as in 1931 at Srimahantula Press in Madras.

The scholars emphasized that Sastry's distinction lay not only in his service as a Devasthanam employee but also as a pioneering archaeologist and researcher who was the first to proclaim the glory of Sri Venkateswara to the wider world.

Scholar Dr Gunasekhar, Smt. Sadhu Girijadevi-Sriman Sadhu Subrahmanya Sastri’s daughter, his grandson, Judge Sri C. N. Murthy,  Annamacharya Project, Dr. Medasani Mohan were also present.

Sri Sri Sri Vishwa Vallabhateertha Swamis of  Sri Sode Vadiraja Matha, Udipi offered prayers in the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara on Wednesday.

 

He was accorded a traditional welcome amidst the chanting of Veda mantras. TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal welcomed the pontiff of Vadiraja Matha.

The TTD board meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Sri BR Naidu along with TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal and other board members at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala on Tuesday.

Several decisions were taken in the larger interests of the devotees besides some developmental activities.  

Excerpts:

           

 - Decision to grow temple trees in Palamaneru in a sprawling 100-acre land to make flagpole and chariots for TTD temples.

 - Approval of additional grant of Rs.48 crore to provide state-of-the-art facilities at Sri Padmavathi Children's Heart Centre in Tirupati

 - nod to provide digital classrooms, CC cameras, computers, necessary software, necessary staff, etc. facilities in 31 educational institutions of TTD based on the report given by the sub-committee of the TTD Board Education Department.

 - Approval towards the construction of Srivari temple at Bandra area of ​​Mumbai at a cost of Rs.14.40 crores.

 - Appointment of an Architect for planning the construction of integrated township in a 20 acre area in Tirupati for the convenience of devotees.  

 - Decision to bring a comprehensive new policy on Cottage  Donation 

 - Sanction of Rs.14.10 crores in the second phase as part of the reconstruction works of Sri Siddeswara Swamy temple in Talakona, Tirupati district.  (Rs. 4 crore sanctioned in first phase)

 - Decision to increase 270 more hostel seats in addition to the existing 2100 hostel seats in Sri Padmavathi Women's Degree College, Tirupati.

 - Decision to fill the 60 vacant posts in four categories in TTD Engineering Department based on notification that was already given.

 -  to continue road maintenance, repairs and maintenance of street lights by TTD in Tirupati.

 - Decision to propose to the Government for the creation of 18 new posts of Potu Supervisors (Pachaka) in Srivari Potu as per the rules.

 - A three member experts Committee comprising Dr Chakravarthy Ranganathan-Director of Distance Education in National Sanskrit University, Tirupati, Dr Medasani Mohan, Director Annamacharya Project, Dr Prabhakar Krishnamoorty, Special Officer of Purana Itihasa Project will recommend the divine names for the roads in Tirumala.

 - Creation of one main Sannidhi Yadava post in Srivari temple and one additional Sannidhi Yadava post, approval of replacement as per rules.

 - Approval for the preservation of ancient structures in Tirumala by setting up a special department and appointing experienced officers.

 - Decision to provide mid-day meal to  day scholars in TTD SV Junior College, SPW Junior College on the lines of mid-day meal scheme in force in State Government Junior Colleges.

 - Decision to increase the wages of 62 priests, Paricharakas, potu workers and prasadam distributors working in TTD affiliated temples.  

 Rs.25,000/- to Rs.45,000/- :Priests

 23,140/- to 30,000/- : Paricharakas

 Rs.24,279/- to Rs.30,000/- :  Potu workers

 Rs.23,640/- to Rs.30,000/- : Prasadam distributors.

Endowments Secretary Sri Hari Jawaharlal, Endowments Commissioner Sri Ramachandra Mohan besides the TTD Additional EO Sri. Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, several board members and JEO Sri Veerabraham also participated in this meeting.
