Command Control Center working well All States Shall follow Telangana Model - Deepak Kumar, IAS, Union Joint Secretary (Food & PDS)








Union Joint Secretary (Food & PDS) during his one-day visit to Hyderabad, has reviewed the working of Command Control Center established in Civil Supplies Bhavan to Control diversions and lapses in PDS rice and appreciated the performance of command control center to watch every movement of stocks right from godown to FP shop point. He also held a meeting with the officials of Civil Supplies Department.

Sri. Deepak Kumar, Joint Secretary has also appreciated the steps taken by Telangana State to install GPS devices in all transport vehicles and CCTVs in all MLS Points and said that he will recommend to all the States to follow Telangana model in installing GPS devices and CCTVs.

 In this connection Commissioner (CS) Sri. CV Anand has explained that the Command Control Center was established to ensure that every movement is brought under surveillance till the stock reaches actual consumer and in fact illegal transportation of PDS rice through Kakinada port was stopped after establishing the Command Control Center. GPS devices were installed in all stage-I and stage-II transport vehicles to avoid diversion of rationed commodities.

Sri. Deepak Kumar, Joint Secretary has ­­­­­­­­­­enquired on stage of installation of  e-PoS devices and observed that Telangana State is lagging behind to some extent. He has advised to install e-PoS devices in all FP shops keeping in view the cashless transactions. He has also enquired on installation of  e-PoS devices in Hyderabad and the savings to the State Government.

Commissioner (CS) Sri  CV Anand informed the progress achieved in e-PoS devices and informed that all out efforts are being made to speed up and complete process of installing e-PoS devices by June 2017 as Central Government is very particular on this issue.

As per the policy guidelines of Central Government to convert  FP shops as centers for cashless transactions e-PoS system is being implemented in the State in phases. Already this was implemented on experimental basis in Mahabubnagar dist.  Now major changes are made in e-PoS devices in the back ground of cashless transactions and added Iris, Scanner, Weighing scales, Swiping machine, Aadhar enable Payments System, audio voice and also providing receipt of payments of current bills, Water bills, etc. Software is developed to take rationed stocks through Bank account of the cardholders.

In last Kharif Procured  16.45 LMTs. of paddy from about 4 lakh formers and made payment of Rs 2500 Corers.
