TTD Ayurveda Hospital a Role Model for Country




Tirumala28,September2017: TTD's exemplary foray to popularize  Ayurveda medicine has found its mark in the Ayurveda  hospital and pharmacy , says Dr Parvati, supdt of Ayurdeva hospital .

She said over 4000  devotees had taken Ayurveda medicine during the Brahmotsavam-2017 so far  for all ailments. 'The TTD Ayurveda pharmacy  produced several formulas from the medicinal plants grown in its plantations' she said .

She said Sri Venkateswara Ayurveda College Hospital would be developed into a model Ayurveda institute in the entire country , Thee TTD Ayurvedic pharmacy at Narasingapuram, Ayurveda medicinal plants are grown, is being developed on a much larger scale to supply of medicinal plants to other institutes and also to identify more number of such species.

She said  the Ayurvedic hospital, affiliated to the college, is one of its kind in the State with 210 beds.offering free treatment  to the needy . More than 1.4 lakh patients were treated in 2016 and during the current Brahmotsavams nearly 4000 pilgrims took ayurveda medicines at Tirumala

She said Medicines worth Rs. 80 lakh are prepared every year at the pharmacy, and they are distributed free of cost at the hospital as well as auxiliary clinics at Tirumala and Srinivasam complex. In addition, medicines are supplied to the needy during camps organised in various parts of the country. The last such camp was held during the Godavari Pushkaralu. TTD is spending over Rs.10 crore on promoting Ayurveda medicine among people as a better alternative for the allopathy, she says
